Riders in a Mighty Argo gondola cabin

Ride the Rush

Colorado’s Newest Scenic Gondola

Fly Through Time

Travel from the Argo Mill, over 1,200 vertical feet to miners point, soaring over Virginia Canyon Mountain Park. Hikers, bikers, wildlife, and historic mining claims fill the rugged landscape below.

The cable car passes over steep slopes, deep gulches lined with cliffs, and up sunny mountain ridges, the mountain view revealing itself all the way.

Mountain Views

10 minutes later you arrive at Miners Point, in the heart of the Colorado Goldrush Mining Frontier.

The view expands southward and westwork, with four 14,000' peaks in the distance. Welcome to a true Colorado Experience at 8,800' above sea level.

Aerial Ropeways
Links to our Past

Cable Cars are nothing new to Mining Country. In fact, modern aerial ropeways can trace their development to the mining industry, including right here in Clear Creek County. In the early 20th century the Sunrise Peak Aerial Tramway - just up the road in Silverplume - was converted from ore hauling to a outdoor attraction. Denver residents could take the train up through Clear Creek Canyon, ride the Tram to an alpine setting and be back home in time for dinner - the original day trippers.

The Mighty Argo Cable Car is 100% guaranteed to be safer and more reliable that these early conveyance systems.

Wildlife

Don't be suprised to see prime examples of Colorado Wildlife, including Elk, Mule Deer, Golden Eagles, Redtail Hawks, Chipmunks, Porcupines, Black Bears, and more.

The area is home to a large population of Rocky Mountain Big Horn Sheep, which can often be seen from the cable car, casually traversing the steep slopes, or even young rams practicing for the fall rut.

Mountain Bikers

Mighty Argo Cable Car features state-of-the-art Doppelmayr bike cabs - a first for North America. Each cab holds 8 bikes and makes the whole uphill experience that much more comfortable for our riders.

The City-owned Virginia Canyon Mountain Park trail system is getting rave reviews from avid advanced to expert mountain bikers across colorado and the US. We are by far the closest lift-served trail system to Denver - so close, in fact, that you can bag laps after work and by home by dinner. Happy Hour Rates and Season Passes available.

Glass-bottomed Cabins

4 of the 22 passenger cabins have glass floors, bringing a whole new dimension to the view and a whole new rush to the ride.
